  • Electrical trade school, apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5–7 years of industrial electrical or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical problems on production and facility equipment and determine root causes.
  • Repair and maintain electrical systems, machinery, controls, motors, sensors, switches, and related components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment documentation.
  • Install, wire, modify, and maintain electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and support industrial control systems, including PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Troubleshoot motor controls, starters, relays, contactors, VFDs, and other electrical control components.
  • Assist with installation, startup, testing, and troubleshooting of new or modified production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic equipment and identify problems affecting machine operation.
  • Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
  • Monitor equipment operation and verify that repairs and corrective actions have resolved identified problems.
  • Work safely with electrical systems and follow all applicable safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and plant policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues, repairs, and parts requirements to appropriate personnel.
  • Work cooperatively with maintenance, production, engineering, and other plant personnel to resolve equipment problems.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to other maintenance personnel when appropriate.

Job description

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment supporting manufacturing operations. This position performs hands-on electrical work involving production equipment, industrial controls, motors, sensors, pneumatic systems, and related electrical components. The Electrician works closely with maintenance and production personnel to minimize equipment downtime and maintain safe, reliable plant operations.

Essential Job Functions

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical trade school, apprenticeship, technical certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience
  • 5-7 years of industrial electrical or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and production equipment.
  • Experience with industrial and pneumatic systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of industrial motors, motor controls, VFDs, relays, sensors, and control circuits.
  • Basic understanding of PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Basic mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting capability.
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices and electrical safety procedures.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to identify electrical faults and determine appropriate corrective action.
  • Ability to work independently while cooperating effectively within a maintenance team.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to work a fixed 12-hour 2-3-2 schedule.
  • Ability to respond effectively to production equipment issues and minimize downtime.
