Job summary

DuPont’s Water & Protection is recruiting an Industrial Electrician for its Buffalo, NY manufacturing site. You will perform installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of electrical and instrumentation systems, on a rotating schedule, in a bargaining union environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years as an electrician in manufacturing, with NEC knowledge and ability to work 24/7 shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and meet confined-space or access requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and 2+ years of experience as an Electrician in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to understand and interpret the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining 12V-480V systems.

Responsibilities

• Repair, adjust, and install electrical equipment including PLCs, transmitters, motor control centers and lighting.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Disassemble equipment to access problems and inspect parts for defects or wear.
• Use blueprints, diagrams and measurement tools as required.

This position typically operates on a rotating schedule. This is a bargaining union opportunity; those selected may be expected to join the local union.**RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION****Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:*** Repair, adjust, and install electrical equipment including but not limited to: programmable controllers and recorders, transmitters and transducers, motor control centers, power lift trucks, building lighting, heating, AC and ventilation equipment, electrical motors, complex electronic devices, control panels, relays, conduit and switches* Troubleshoots and repairs complex problems: visually inspects diagnoses and observes electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems.* Changes-out and repairs AC/DC electric motors and parts, relays, solenoids, and terminal strips* Disassembles equipment to gain access to problem, using crane, hoists, hand tools, power tools, hammers, pry-bars, etc.; examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear* Uses blueprints, diagrams, repair manuals, calipers, micrometers, scales, and other measuring instruments as requiredThis position has a current starting rate on days of $38.06 and will increase to $41.87 once assigned to shifts.This position is part of a bargaining unit and shift schedules may change based on the bargaining agreement.**JOB QUALIFICATIONS****Requirements:*** Minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and 2+ years of experience as an Electrician, Maintenance/Control Mechanic or similar in a manufacturing environment is required* Able to understand and interpret the National Electric Code* Able to troubleshoot and maintain 12V-480V systemA successful candidate will be able to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, including:* Willing and able to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule including holidays and weekends as well as overtime, sometimes on short notice.* Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs.* Willing and able to meet the physical demands of the position and perform work in confined areas and hard-to-reach conditionsPlease note that a minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; no visa sponsorship/support or relocation assistance is available for this position.Join our to stay connected with us!DuPont is an equal opportunity employer.
