Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking an Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade complex control and electrical distribution systems on the production line. You will use SAP maintenance tools and diagnose issues to ensure safety, quality and uptime across operations.

The role requires reading schematics, operating 3-phase systems, and collaborating with maintenance teams to support continuous improvement and sustainable plant performance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must read, write, and speak English
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• US citizenship or right to work in US
• Must be drug free
• 4 years electrical/electronic/instrumentation experience in industrial/manufacturing
• Stand for extended periods
• Climb and work from ladders
• Climb stairs
• Two years Associate degree preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Use computers, PLCs, voltage meters and current meters to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and control systems
• Utilize drawings, schematics, diagrams and documents to perform duties
• Perform SAP generated work descriptions and orders
• Complete records and reports in SAP plant maintenance module and Fiori
• Support general Operations and Maintenance beyond Electrical responsibilities
• Be available to work outside regular hours for maintenance support

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading complex controls, low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Use computers, PLC’s, voltage meters and current meters to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical and control systems
• Utilize information obtained from engineering drawings, electrical schematics and diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents, and verbal field instructions needed to perform assigned duties
• Perform work tasks from SAP generated work descriptions and orders
• Complete accurate records and reports as needed in SAP plant maintenance module and Fiori
• Willing to support general Operations and Maintenance functions outside of Electrical responsibilities
• Willing and able to work when called outside of regular working hours for Operations and Maintenance support

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US
• Must be drug free
• 4 years electrical/electronic/instrumentation experience in industrial/manufacturing environment. Combination of college and experience will be considered
• Stand for extended and prolonged periods of time.
• Climb and work from ladders, both portable and fixed
• Climb stairs

Preferred Experience

• Two years Associate degree in electrical or Electronic Systems Technology is preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledgeable and skilled in 3-phase AC motors and motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution systems (to 25.5 kV AC), Servo drive systems, Allen-Bradley PLCs and Rockwell VFDs
• Able to install electrical panels, conduit and wiring per local, state and federal safety codes
• Able to read technical diagrams and schematics
• General knowledge of Microsoft office suite
