Industrial Maintenance Electrician, Barberton OH

Starting Pay Rate: $33.62/hour.

**Sign On Bonus: $1000, with $500 payable after 90 days on the job, $500 payable after 180 days on the job. Additionally, a $1000 Retention Bonus is payable after 365 days on the job.**

Shifts: First shift training from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm; after training, shifts will be either second shift: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm or third shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am. This is a backshift position.

As an Industrial Maintenance Electrician at PPG Barberton, OH plant, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the availability of quality products for our customers. Your work will directly impact people's lives!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment, such as conveyors and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines, following manuals and schematics.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged wires and cables.
  • Test machinery and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance staff to diagnose issues.
  • Replace faulty electrical components like relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
  • Work with various voltages, including 480V, 240V, and 120V, in single and three-phase circuits.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of journeyman-level electrical experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Electric Code.
  • PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) required, including a respirator/face mask. Must be clean-shaven. PPE will be provided by PPG.
