MGP Ingredients is hiring an Industrial Electrician for our Atchison, KS plant. You will join a team of electricians to keep electrical equipment running and lead plant projects. The role requires troubleshooting AC/DC drives, PLCs, and motor systems, with strong teamwork and safety awareness.

The position operates on an alternate swing shift with a schedule that includes evenings and overnights. Applicants must have a high school diploma and be able to pass aptitude tests and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred familiarity with 24V AC/DC to 480V AC three-phase systems.
• Ability to pass aptitude and mechanical testing.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions.
• Comfort with data entry and computer-controlled plant features.
• Color vision required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and instrumentation.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are hiring for an Industrial Electrician at our Atchison, KS plant. This position works as a member of a team of electricians to ensure that all electrical apparatus remain fully functional and completing projects throughout the plant.

This is an alternate/swing shift. Here is the tentative schedule:

• Monday and Tuesday 4:00pm - 12:00am.
• Thursday and Friday 11:45pm - 7:45am.
• Saturday - Off.
• Sunday 7:30pm - 4:00am.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Troubleshoot and repair problems with electrical equipment and instrumentation
• Installing, configuring, repairing and maintaining various brands of AC and DC electronic drives
• Troubleshoot and repair motor and control systems and PLCs
• Perform electrical building maintenance and repairs

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred experience with 24 volt ac/dc through 480 volt ac three phase, frequency drives & PLC logic.
• Requires passing score on general aptitude testing and mechanical testing conducted at MGP Ingredients.
• Ability to work effectively in teams
• Strong verbal & written communication skills. Ability to interpret and follow written and verbal instruction.
• Ability to enter and interpret data from computer and ability to operate computer controlled features in the plant
• Ability to see colors
• Ability to climb and work in high places and in confined spaces
• Willingness to work shift work and overtime as required
