Job summary

Downers Grove Sanitary District is seeking an Electric Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrical equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Center, Administration Center, and remote pumping stations. Duties include installing new equipment, wiring layouts, and maintaining records.

This role requires five years in a related field, a valid Illinois electrical license (or ability to obtain within 12 months), a high school diploma, and on-call availability;

Qualifications

• Requires five years of work experience in wastewater or similar industrial/utility electrical maintenance.
• Must possess a valid Illinois electrical license or be able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Proficient in reading electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; basic website navigation and online research skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on electrical equipment at the Wastewater Treatment Center, Administration Center, and remote pumping stations.
• Install new electrical equipment (motors, PLCs, lighting, HVAC, etc.) and plan wiring layouts.
• Maintain calibration of non-electrical equipment and keep maintenance records/work orders updated.
• Assist with procurement of materials and maintaining specialized tools and meters.
