GE Vernova in Schenectady, NY is hiring an Industrial Electrical Technician to operate, maintain and improve robotic systems, CNC tools and electrical controls in a manufacturing setting. The role focuses on diagnosing issues, ordering parts, and performing electrical repairs across motor drives and PLC systems.

The candidate will work 2nd or 3rd shift (weekdays) with a base hourly pay range and eligible for wage increases and a night-shift bonus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a manufacturing facility in a technical maintenance role.
• Strong electrical fundamentals.
• Experience with PLC systems to diagnose and repair circuits.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair electrical aspects of CNC machine tools, PLC ladder, VFD motors, and robotics
• Diagnose problems, plan and complete work required, identify and order parts
• Install, modify, troubleshoot, test and repair electrical and electronic control systems up to 600V
• Maintain and modify machine tools, process equipment and facilities
• Apply knowledge of components, devices and equipment used in industrial equipment applications and the related electronics including AC and DC motors, motors controls, electronic drives, PLC, instrumentation and sensors.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology/Mechatronics OR High School Diploma/GED with Military Advanced Electronics Training Course

Eligibility Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work off shifts and weekends
• Ability and willingness to work either 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) Monday - Friday.

Desired Characteristics

• Minimum 3 years work experience in Manufacturing Facility in a technical maintenance role
• Familiarity with electrical motors and control circuits
• Strong electrical fundamental and safety knowledge (electrical schematics, NFPA 79, LOTO)
• Prior experience with operating systems, software and ladder logic (Fanuc, Siemens) used in PLC systems to diagnose and repair circuits to restore operation.

The base pay range for this position is $37.47 to $45.68 per hour. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases. This position is also eligible for a Night Shift Bonus of $1.00/hour.
