Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking an Industrial Electrical Project Engineer II to lead electrical design on multi-discipline industrial process projects for minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, and petrochemicals.

You will supervise design tasks, coordinate with PMs and sub-consultants, ensure schedule, budget, and quality, mentor staff, and provide client-facing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related ABET-accredited program.
• 8–10 years of experience in industrial electrical engineering design.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD 3D or discipline-specific software; strong client communication.

Responsibilities

• Support project management by developing hours estimates and scope.
• Provide design status updates to Project Manager and track discipline budgets.
• Oversee discipline subtasks and QA/QC plans per PMP guidance.
• Lead and mentor design staff; provide client meetings and timely updates.

Position Summary: Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company is seeking an Industrial Electrical Project Engineer II. The Industrial Electrical Project Engineer II will be responsible for performing, directing, and supervising all aspects of Electrical Engineering on multi-discipline industrial process design projects of small to large scope for facilities that process minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, and petrochemicals, among others. They will also coordinate with design and other project engineers to efficiently complete project goals delivered on schedule, budget, and of quality.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Supporting overall Project Manager by executing project management responsibilities for respective discipline, including, developing hours estimates, scope, etc.
• Provide design status updates to the Project Manager.
• Track the budgets of discipline task(s).
• Oversee sub-tasks within their respective discipline for a project.
• Executing quality control and quality assurance plans as provided by the PMP for project.
• Delegate project tasks to project team members.
• Coaching/mentoring design staff through the design process.
• Provide consultative services to the client(s), including attending client meetings, providing timely updates, and appropriate solutions to meet their expectations.
• Collaborate and manage project sub-consultants and other internal disciplines
• Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
• Perform alternative studies, evaluate impacts, develop and finalize reports for client.
• Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools.
• Perform or check design computations
• Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure alignment and project completion by the defined deadline and established quality.
• Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department
• Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
• 8-10 years’ experience in industrial electrical engineering design

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
• Professional Engineer License

Working Conditions:

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.

Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
