Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in California is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to provide electrical support, maintenance, installation and repair for multiple manufacturing machines. The role requires strong knowledge of industrial electrical controls, hydraulics and pneumatics, plus the ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

Ideal candidates will have experience with PLC troubleshooting, motors, relays, 3-phase power and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Trouble shooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level.
• Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiar with steam generating systems and safety compliance.
• Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• PLC troubleshooting and problem solving with mechanical & electrical aptitude.
• Familiar with sensors and limit switches.
• Basic welding skills preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing environment.
• Maintain machinery with a focus on safety, efficiency and uptime.
• Work with hydraulics and pneumatics to support automated systems.
