Job summary
North Star BlueScope Steel, LLC is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain and repair production equipment, develop maintenance programs, and lead efforts to optimize costs and safety. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and PLCs.
The role requires reading blueprints, strong electrical knowledge, and experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs. Shifts are 12 hours with overtime and a sign-on bonus of $10,000; comprehensive benefits
Qualifications
- Industrial electrical maintenance experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Able to read blueprints and schematics.
- Strong electrical knowledge including circuit breakers and fixtures.
- PLC experience, preferably Allen-Bradley.
- Physically capable of demanding work.
- Reliable, dependable and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication with plant personnel.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to improve reliability.
- Lead cost optimization and reduce unsafe conditions.
- Install or assist in installation of new equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and audits.
- Inspect equipment and ensure timely repairs.
- Communicate repair steps and parts needed.
- Maintain housekeeping of work area.
