Take Ownership of the Electrical Systems That Keep Production Moving
Manufacturer seeking experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technicians to support its steel processing and warehousing. This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who enjoy solving complex electrical and controls problems—not simply replacing parts. You will troubleshoot critical production equipment, reduce downtime, improve aging systems, and help shape long-term equipment reliability.
The 1st-shift technician will serve as the primary electrical support on the production floor and must bring advanced PLC, VFD, and controls troubleshooting experience.
What You’ll Work On
- 480V three-phase power distribution
- Allen-Bradley PLC-controlled equipment
- Variable Frequency Drives
- Motor Control Centers and power distribution panels
- AC/DC motors, transformers, relays, contactors, and overloads
- HMIs, sensors, scanners, safety relays, and light curtains
- Steel processing and slitting equipment
- Heavy-duty motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Older relay controls and industrial automation systems
- Overhead cranes and heavy material-handling equipment
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, controls, and automated production systems.
- Diagnose PLC, VFD, HMI, motor-control, sensor, and safety-system failures.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and OEM documentation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
- Identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Install electrical equipment, run conduit, size conductors and circuit-protection devices, and wire or disconnect equipment.
- Participate in equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and capital projects.
- Support mechanical technicians with motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Locate replacement components using inventory systems and technical resources.
- Document completed work and communicate equipment conditions across departments.
- Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.

- At least 7 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Advanced Allen-Bradley PLC, VFD, automation, and controls troubleshooting skills
- Ability to serve as the primary electrical resource on the production floor
- Strong experience troubleshooting 480V three-phase equipment and motor-control systems
3rd Shift
- At least 5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
- Strong PLC-controlled equipment, VFD, MCC, motor, HMI, and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and respond calmly to production-critical breakdowns
Preferred for Both Openings
- Experience in steel processing, stamping, metals, or another heavy manufacturing environment
- Industrial electrical apprenticeship, technical-school training, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot systematically
- Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout
- Basic proficiency with email, Microsoft Word, Excel, maintenance reports, and online parts research
You’ll Succeed Here If You
- Enjoy troubleshooting more than replacing parts
- Naturally ask, "Why did it fail?"
- Take ownership of equipment reliability
- Stay composed during urgent production issues
- Work independently while supporting the maintenance and operations teams
- Value safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement
Benefits
