Job summary

Great Basin Industrial is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator / Preconstruction to join our growing Electrical team in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This role prepares accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial electrical projects, supporting preconstruction efforts and collaborating with project teams.

The position is on site with occasional travel to project sites and client meetings. Candidates should have 4–5 years of relevant experience, strong reading of drawings, and

Qualifications

• 4–5 years' experience with industrial electrical construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial electrical projects.
• Review project plans, specs, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations, and clients during preconstruction.
• Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
