Job summary

Beck & Pollitzer US Inc in Spartanburg, SC seeks an Industrial Electrical Estimator to analyze blueprints, specs, and project docs to prepare accurate cost and labor estimates. You will support bid development, cost tracking, and proposals to help ensure profitability and client satisfaction.

The role requires at least 3 years of estimating industrial projects, experience with electrical and mechanical installations, and proficiency in estimation software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating industrial construction projects.
• Experience estimating mechanical and electrical engineering projects.
• Experience with electrical commodity takeoffs including cable tray, conduit, cable pulls/lengths, and wire terminations.
• Experience installing industrial electrical equipment including switchgear, MCCs, control panels, electrical distribution panels, transformers, lighting, UPS systems, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
• Attend site visits to review project scopes, confirm customer requirements, and gather information to develop estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using estimation software and company standards.
• Assist in defining scope and methods of work for proposals.
• Support the preparation and submission of competitive bid packages.
• Accurate price change orders and track project costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain bid schedules and respond to Invitations to Bid.
• Collaborate with engineering, field, and office personnel to gather necessary information.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating practices and project controls.
• Enable effective internal and external communication across departments.
• Participate in value engineering and risk assessment discussions.

Summary of Primary Functions:

The Industrial Electrical Estimator is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate cost and labor estimates. This role supports the Estimating Manager and Project Managers by contributing to bid development, cost tracking, and proposal preparation. The Industrial Electrical Estimator plays a key role in ensuring project profitability, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Experience, Qualifications and Key Competencies

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience estimating projects for industrial construction and/or industrial machinery installation is required.
• Experience estimating mechanical and electrical engineering projects, especially production equipment installations.
• Experience performing electrical commodity takeoffs including cable tray, conduit, cable pulls/lengths, and wire terminations.
• Experience estimating installation of industrial electrical equipment including switchgear, motor control centers, control panels, electrical distribution panels, transformers, lighting, UPS systems, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and health & safety regulations.
• Strong financial skills including cost analysis and budgeting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Project Management training or certification is a plus.
• Construction cost estimating; estimating large projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of industrial relocation services, and materials.

Travel Required:

Must be willing and able to work at our corporate office, when required, in Spartanburg, SC.
