Job Description
The technician position requires the integration of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components for automated machinery and conveyors. Use of small hand tools, ability to read a tape measure. Wire electrical panels and devices. Reports to the subassembly floor supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Wiring and integration of Industrial Machinery Control Enclosures for a wide variety of industries
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and B.O.M./drawings, engineering prints/specifications, and/or verbal/written instructions
- Responsible for laying out, machining, populating, and wiring of electrical control enclosures
- Assembly of mechanical and/or pneumatic components as required.
- Use common hand tools, drill, taps, saws, knockout punches, and multi-meter.
- Verify work performed by checking continuity or a simulated functional test to determine proper component circuitry that meets operational requirements
- May require operation of a forklift; if so, training will be provided
Assist the mechanical assembly department with assembling structures out of aluminum extrusions
- Assist with equipment installations, which may require daily and/or overnight travel.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience using the skills mentioned above
- Experience in wiring electrical control panels, UL 508A experience is a plus.
- Read and interpret schematics and electrical specifications as required.
- Experience with industrial hydraulic machinery
- Working knowledge of AC & DC control circuits, including single and three-phase motor control, PLC terminology/function, and basic knowledge of measuring instruments and meters.
- The ability to work with and understand electromechanical functionality
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to successfully handle a multi-tasked role in an organized fashion.
- Must communicate with engineering to work through issues using email, teams, phone calls, and in-person communication.
- Strong computer skills. Capable of working with all Microsoft Office applications
- Strong time management and organization skills. Must be able to work independently and successfully complete multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
