Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking an electrical tradesperson for on-site work in Freeport, TX. The role involves installing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems, wiring and equipment on industrial sites, with adherence to safety rules and project guidelines.

You will read blueprints, interpret diagrams, and use conduit, electrical meters and test equipment to ensure proper operation. Overtime and climbing at heights may be required.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics and plans.
• Knowledge of Industrial Electrician hand tools, power tools and layout tools.
• Must be able to meet all physical demands and pre-employment conditions.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to work 7 days a week as needed.
• Must be able to work at heights and be able to climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms.

Responsibilities

• Maintains wiring and control equipment through which electricity flows.
• Maintains electrical equipment and machines.
• Fixes, repairs and upgrades electrical systems and components such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, wire, motors, transformers, generators and tools.
• Adheres to state and local building/electrical codes.
• Uses hand and power tools to install and service electrical systems.
• Tests connections and ensure capability using ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters and harmonics testers.
