Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Draftsman/Designer to support a long-term engineering assignment in Natrium, WV. The role focuses on developing and maintaining drawings for plant projects, including piping, P&IDs, civil layouts, and structural drawings, with AutoCAD proficiency required.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, field-measurement skills, and the ability to work with engineers and contractors in a plant environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years drafting or related experience or a recent technical program graduate.
• Proficient in AutoCAD with the ability to become proficient in AutoCAD 2026.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic concepts.
• Ability to accurately perform field measurements and translate field conditions into drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain drawings and documentation for plant projects.
• Perform mechanical and civil drafting activities: Piping, P&IDs, general arrangements, civil layouts, structural drawings.
• Conduct field walk-downs and collect measurements to support design work.
• Translate field information into accurate drawings, job packages, and design documentation.
• Create, organize, and maintain equipment files and related design information.
• Load and maintain equipment and design information within internal databases and systems.
• Collaborate with in-house engineers to support capital and maintenance projects.
• Support and coordinate small projects under supervision of engineering personnel.
• Interface professionally with contractors and outside engineering firms.
• Apply company standards and procedures to assigned work.
