BD, a global medical technology leader, is establishing Industrial Designer capability for user-centered product design across its platforms. The role bridges aesthetics, ergonomics, usability, and engineering feasibility to deliver intuitive, manufacturable products.

Qualifications

BS Industrial Design, Product Design, or closely related engineering discipline.
8+ years of professional industrial design experience.
Able to work independently and drive design decisions with minimal oversight.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and influence across business units.
Strong hand-sketching and visual communication skills.
Proficient in 3-D CAD Modeling (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo).
Proficient in visualization/rendering software (KeyShot).
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
Hands-on prototyping experience (3D printing, foam/clay modeling).

Responsibilities

Industrial Design Leadership: act as the subject matter expert across all four UCC platforms and establish design standards.
User Research: plan and conduct generative user research to uncover needs and opportunities.
User-Centered Concept Development and Visualization: lead concept generation and translate needs into form via sketching and prototyping.
Human Factors Support: collaborate with HFE in usability studies.
Design for Manufacturability: partner with engineering and manufacturing to ensure producible designs.
