Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Industrial Designer for the Starlink team in the Austin area. You will help shape the future of global connectivity by designing consumer products, services, and experiences at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and innovation.

You’ll champion the full design process, translating strategy into bold concepts, prototyping with 3D printing, and driving production-ready surfaces from concept to hardware. Portfolio required; relocation to Austin is necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a design discipline is required.
• 1+ years of professional industrial/transportation design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong visualization and design talent.
• Ability to relocate to the Austin, TX area.

Responsibilities

• Translate design strategy into bold, feasible design concepts.
• Prototype and iterate with 3D printing and physical mockups.
• Solve ergonomic and usability challenges with refined design.
• Deliver high-fidelity surface modeling and renderings.
• Provide design direction through all product development stages.
• Communicate decisions clearly to engineers and leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to move prototypes to hardware.
• Improve prototyping processes to accelerate development.
