Job summary

Electronic Theatre Controls is seeking summer interns for 2027 to assist in generating design concepts meeting product specs. Duties include sketches, renderings, mechanical layouts, UI mockups, icons/fonts, overlays, and presentation materials.

You should be pursuing a Bachelor's in Industrial Design or related field, with a strong portfolio and familiarity with Keyshot/SolidWorks tools. HR review begins late September.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field with relevant coursework.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
• Familiarity with rendering tools and CAD software is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in generating design concepts to meet product specifications.
• Create sketches, renderings, and mechanical layouts to test feasibility.
• Prepare UI/UX mockups, icons, fonts, and overlays for presentations.
• Support senior designers with project materials and deliverables.
• Include portfolio or work samples in application.

Job description

ETC is hiring interns for the summer of 2027!

Some of the duties you may be doing:

Assists in generating a broad variety of design concepts to satisfy the user needs and requirements of the product specification. This activity requires some of the following:

• Sketches and/or renderings
• Mechanical layouts to determine design feasibility
• Mockups of UI and/or product aesthetics
• Assists in the creation of icons and fonts
• Graphics for overlays
• Assists more senior Industrial Designers in presentation material for the project and/or product
• Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• 1-3 years post high school education in area of specialization
• GPA: 3.0 or higher
• Working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or related field
• Junior or Senior year or have taken relevant courses in Industrial Design or related field
• Familiar with rendering tools; Keyshot or Solidworks Visualize
• Familiar with CAD tools; SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros
• Attach portfolio or work sample document

• Submit copy of unofficial transcripts
