Job summary

Academy of Art University in San Francisco seeks an Industrial Design Computer Lab Technician to assist students with hardware and software in the 1849 Washington Lab, delivering on-site support in classroom and lab settings.

You will diagnose and repair equipment, manage inventory and software updates, provide needed hardware to faculty, protect equipment, and help maintain a clean, productive learning environment while following established lab guidelines.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of Windows 11.
• Preferred knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere), Autodesk products, and Blender.
• Ability to learn and support hardware such as the Meta Quest 3 VR Headset and other VR devices.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with hardware and software to complete assignments in a computer laboratory setting.
• Helps diagnose, repair, and replace computer equipment when necessary.
• Maintains inventory, updates software/hardware, and ensures proper storage and backup of software.
• Provides faculty with hardware, software, and documentation as needed.
