UPC Displays in Madison, WI is seeking a practical, creative designer to take a concept from idea to production-ready—independently, and with full ownership from concept to shop floor.

You should bring hands-on CAD experience, especially AutoCAD and Blender, strong drawing skills, and the ability to manage files and collaborate with production teams. Recent grads with portfolios are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Translate customer needs into original design concepts from rough sketches to refined models.
• Produce clear, complete technical drawings and BOMs for shop floor production.
• Manage your own projects with file organization and version control.
• Communicate design decisions to non-engineers clearly.
• Experience with ERP systems (Odoo) is helpful, not required.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, design, or fabrication with a portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Take customer needs and translate them into original design concepts from rough sketches to refined models.
• Build 3D models and produce complete, accurate drawings and BOMs ready for shop floor production.
• Manage your own projects: file organization, version control, drawing updates, and design documentation.
• Work directly with production teams to ensure designs can be built as intended.
• Support adoption of new tools and processes to improve speed and consistency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting better methods.
