Job summary

Emerald Transformer is seeking a Decommission Technician in Twinsburg, Ohio. This onsite role involves disassembly of decommissioned power equipment, salvaging reusable components, and proper disposal of oils and solvents.

The position operates on a Mon–Fri schedule with 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shifts. Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent and mechanical aptitude; prior construction/manufacturing experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in construction or manufacturing environments is not required but will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble decommissioned power distribution units.
• Salvage metals and reusable components from decommissioned equipment.
• Properly handle and dispose of oils, solvents, and other liquid compounds in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Move units along roller conveyor tracks from in‑process areas to the decommissioning building.
• Use hand and pneumatic tools to complete assigned tasks.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material‑handling equipment as required.
• Maintain responsibility for tools and equipment in the assigned work area.
• Keep the workstation safe, clean, and orderly at all times.
• Work closely with other associates in a team‑oriented environment.
• Meet productivity expectations while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Work overtime or call‑in hours as required.
• Package or bale materials for shipment.
• Load trailers for shipment.
