Job summary

JCC Construction Corp. in New York seeks a skilled Controls Mechanic to install, troubleshoot, and service industrial waste-handling equipment. You will work with low-voltage controls, PLCs, and VFDs to maximize uptime and safety.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, field installations, wiring control panels, reading electrical and hydraulic schematics, and documenting service records. A high school diploma and 2–4 years' experience with waste equipment are required; a technical certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational certification in industrial electronics, electro-mechanics, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience as a Controls Technician or Maintenance Mechanic with industrial machinery.
• Experience with heavy waste systems, compactors, or material-conveying augers is heavily weighted.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and low-voltage wiring (24V DC / 120V AC; up to 480V three-phase motors).
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics on industrial equipment.
• Low-Voltage Controls Maintenance: install, commission, and repair panels, PLCs, VFDs, and sensors.
• Mechanical & Hydraulic Repair: disassemble and service augers and compactors; hydraulic pumps and valves.
• Schematic Interpretation: read electrical and hydraulic diagrams for modernization or rewiring.
• Preventative Maintenance: perform routine testing and inspections to OSHA/ANSI standards.
• System Commissioning: assist in field installations; wire control panels and run conduit.
• Documentation: log service records and parts used in maintenance software.
