Job summary

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) seeks a Controls & Electrical Design Engineer to design, program, commission, and optimize industrial control systems for our battery recycling and materials processing facilities near Reno, NV. You will partner with Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, vendors, and contractors to deliver safe, reliable automation solutions that improve plant performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in industrial controls, automation, or PLC programming.
  • Experience designing or supporting industrial control systems in manufacturing/chemical/mining environments.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and loop drawings.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, motor controls, and networks.
  • Ability to interpret PFDs and P&IDs and translate requirements into designs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and field installation startup skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design industrial control systems for chemical, mechanical, and utility processes.
  • Develop and maintain control panel documentation and schematics.
  • Support PLC, HMI, and SCADA development; create sequences of operation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, engineers, operations, and maintenance.
  • Assist with commissioning, testing, and startup of control systems.
