Job summary

Culligan International is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer II to design, program, test, and support electrical controls for complex industrial water treatment projects. The role blends engineering design with hands-on shop-floor and field work, including BMS, BACnet, MODBUS, PLC and HMI programming, and control panel design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or automation engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in industrial controls including PLC programming and HMI development.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms, HMI development, and panel design.
• Candidate must be able to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and customer specs.
• Willing to travel up to 25% for installations, startups, testing, and field support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support electrical controls solutions for custom systems and Global Accounts projects.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, I/O lists, BOMs, and controls documentation.
• Program PLCs and HMIs using process documentation and customer requirements.
• Select PLC hardware, instrumentation, enclosures, and power distribution devices.
• Support panel builds, wiring, prototypes, and shop-floor troubleshooting.
• Participate in FAT, startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, project management, and customers to resolve issues.
