Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking an engineer to specify, design, and program industrial control solutions. You will work on both independent and team-led projects, developing complete control packages and system proposals.

The role includes managing projects through production, updating management and customers, guiding technicians, and supporting final inspections and testing of systems. A strong emphasis on documentation, communication, and continuous improvement is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer or related engineering fields.
• Prefer 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Familiarity with PLC, HMI, machine vision and motion control products is a plus.
• AutoCAD Electrical experience is preferred.
• Ability to break down, organize, and manage complex projects.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers in person, on the phone, email and video calls.

Responsibilities

• Apply Applied Industrial Technologies' products and technologies to automate client processes.
• Develop, review, and maintain drawings, BOMs, project specs, and engineering change docs.
• Generate quotations for projects including cable assemblies, control panels, turnkey systems, and programming services.
• Conduct feasibility studies with automation equipment to specify hardware and software.
• Design control systems with electrical schematics, components, and panel layouts.
• Configure, program, test, and debug PLCs, HMIs, motion controls, robots, and vision systems.
• Manage engineering projects and regularly communicate status to management, sales, or customers.
• Provide customer education and training as needed.
