Position Overview

CFD Research Corporation is seeking an experienced industrial controls engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and integration of complex systems for our customers. In this role you will support both rapid prototyping and detailed hardware development. This individual will work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and support all aspects of control system design, development, and test. The role is based out of our Engineering Test Center in Hollywood, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial motor control system automation, Rockwell Automation PLC hardware, and supporting electrical system knowledge.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant ABET-accredited STEM degree with 5 years of relevant experience
• Motor control center design, layout, integration, and test
• Low voltage (LV) to medium voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and programmable logic controller (PLC) integration
• Proficiency in Rockwell Automation PLC Programming
• Working knowledge of Studio 5000 and Factory Talk software
• Testing and debugging of PLC control system

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to establish network communications and remote Windows workstations
• Knowledge of National Instruments DAQ systems
• Electrical system design, layout, integration, and test
• Experience in developing and interpreting electrical schematics
• Comfortable working in a prototyping environment
• Knowledge of applicable safety codes

Location

This individual will work onsite in Hollywood, AL.
