Job summary

ERG is seeking an Industrial Controls Electrician to support the EPA Onsite Research Laboratory. The role involves installing conduit, wiring control panels, and maintaining motors and VFDs in a fast-paced research setting.

The candidate should have 5+ years of industrial electrical experience, strong NEC knowledge, and proficiency with Excel/Word. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and a clear career path at ERG.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five to seven years of industrial electrical experience including plant maintenance, control-panel wiring, and instrumentation.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and ability to read equipment manuals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in a fast-paced laboratory or industrial research setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, bend, and thread electrical conduit (EMT and rigid conduit).
• Pull, route, and terminate conductors in disconnects, panelboards, control panels, motor starters, and other electrical equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, replace, and maintain electric motors and motor-control equipment (VFDs, relays, transformers).
• Work with low-voltage and power circuits up to 480 volts (single and three-phase).
• Wire control panels per UL specifications and standards.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and operate required lab equipment.
• Maintain inventories of materials, tools, and hardware.
• Assist with general shop and technician duties; complete Shop Services Requests promptly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; participate in safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality policies.
