Job summary

Baxters North America, Inc. in Cincinnati, OH, seeks an Electrical Control Technician to support the design, development, installation and maintenance of electrical control and automation systems in a manufacturing environment.

You will troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley PLCs, HMIs, drives and sensors, read schematics, and ensure NFPA 70/OSHA safety compliance. Contribute to continuous improvement and safety while maintaining documentation and program logic.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electrical, Controls or Automation Technology.
3+ years of experience in industrial electrical automation.
Hands-on with Allen‑Bradley PLC hardware and software.
Ability to read and understand electrical/controls documentation.
Proficient with electrical test equipment and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including power distribution and control panels.
Troubleshoot 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC systems and components.
Diagnose motors, starters, relays, sensors, and safety devices.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
Perform lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety checks.
Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix).
Support startups, commissioning, and testing of new equipment.
Assist root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain documentation for electrical and control system changes.
