Job summary

Chemsteel Construction Company has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Pittsburgh Operations Team. The Project Engineer handles the technical, procurement, and document control disciplines required to successfully execute heavy industrial construction projects.

Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, the Project Engineer will manage the flow of information and monitor field quality and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Some industrial construction experience preferred, with knowledge of concrete, excavation, piping, mechanical, structural or equipment setting.
• Strong ability to read and produce engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Generate, log, track, and process RFIs and submittals to keep data moving between field and design teams.
• Evaluate revisions and contract changes to identify design impacts and distribute updated specs.
• Maintain project records and closeout documentation.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics; verify field conformity to plans.
• Conduct site walkthroughs to ensure compliance with the quality plan.
• Coordinate field measurements and layout verifications for alignment.
• Support master schedule development and monitoring with Primavera P6.
• Monitor labor, equipment, and supplier invoices against budget; aid cost forecasting.
