Job summary

Solar Energy Solutions East LLC (SESRE) is seeking a Commercial Solar Engineer to support design, engineering, and development of commercial and industrial solar projects. You will collaborate with project management, sales, and operations to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions that meet customer requirements and code requirements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with solar photovoltaic systems, electrical design, performance analysis, and construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in solar photovoltaic engineering, electrical design, or commercial/industrial energy projects preferred.
• Understanding of photovoltaic systems, inverters, electrical distribution, and solar components.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, single line diagrams, site plans, and engineering calculations.
• Proficiency with engineering/design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review commercial/industrial solar photovoltaic designs.
• Evaluate project sites, electrical infra, roof layouts, and ground-mount opportunities.
• Prepare or review electrical drawings, single line diagrams, site layouts, equipment schedules.
• Support system sizing, energy production estimates, equipment selection, and performance calculations.
• Assist with selecting PV modules, inverters, components, and mounting systems.
• Ensure designs meet code, permitting, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with sales to evaluate feasibility and technical requirements.
• Support proposals, budgets, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, electricians, installers, and stakeholders.
• Review documentation for design conflicts and constructability concerns.
• Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Assist with permitting, utility applications, inspections, and approvals as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and safety.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and review submittals.
