Job summary

Solar Energy Solutions East LLC (SESRE) is seeking a Commercial & Industrial Solar Engineer to design, engineer, and develop commercial/industrial solar projects. You will work with project management, sales, construction, and operations to deliver cost-effective, code-compliant solar solutions that meet client requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience with solar photovoltaic systems, electrical design, system performance analysis, and commercial/industrial construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in solar photovoltaic engineering and commercial/industrial energy projects.
• Understanding of photovoltaic systems, inverters, electrical distribution, and solar components.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, single line diagrams, site plans, and engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of NEC, local building codes, permitting, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope or comparable tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, project management, and construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic system designs.
• Evaluate project sites, electrical infrastructure, roof layouts, and ground mounted opportunities.
• Prepare or review electrical drawings, single line diagrams, site layouts, equipment schedules, and engineering documentation.
• Support system sizing, energy production estimates, equipment selection, and performance calculations.
• Assist with determining appropriate solar modules, inverters, electrical components, and mounting systems.
• Ensure designs align with project specifications, codes, and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with commercial solar sales teams to evaluate project feasibility and technical requirements.
• Support preliminary engineering assessments, proposals, budgets, and project cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, electricians, installers, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Review project documentation for conflicts and constructability concerns.
• Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project closeout.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams regarding solar system design and installation requirements.
