McWane Plant & Industrial in Calera, AL, seeks an Industrial Painter to apply P401 protective coatings to the interior of pipes and fittings, ensuring corrosion resistance and longevity. Role demands meticulous surface preparation and accurate mixing per manufacturer specs. Responsibilities include coating application by spray, brush, or roller; monitoring temperature and humidity; inspecting coated surfaces for defects; maintaining safety and PPE.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial coating application, preferably with epoxy or similar materials.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and SDS.
• Proficiency in using coating application equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal safety and the safety of your team members.
• Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wear appropriate PPE, including fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head, and eye protection.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned work area.
• Proactively promote the McWane Way principles.
• Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean and prepare pipe and fitting surfaces, including removing rust, scale, and other contaminants through methods like sandblasting, wire brushing, and/or chemical cleaning.
