Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a dependable Janitor to join our facilities team. This role involves cleaning offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and public areas, and supporting non-routine cleaning and special projects as needed.

You will work in a fast-paced environment across client sites, handling waste, restrooms, floors, windows, and basic maintenance tasks while following chemical safety procedures.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• No experience required.
• TWIC Card and Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with cleaners and squeegees.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Perform minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Prepare cleaning solutions following specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish and polish floors.
• Clean interiors damaged by fire, smoke or water using appropriate equipment.
• Clean laboratory glassware and metal instruments.
• Drive vehicles required for cleaning work ( vans, industrial trucks, vacuums).
• Follow chemical safety procedures to protect floors and fixtures.
• Monitor building security and safety after hours.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment using manual methods or hand trucks.
• Notify managers about major repairs or additions to building systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
• No sponsorship for visas.
