Job summary

Vulcan Metals Corporation in Atchison, KS is seeking a dependable CDL Driver to support daily operations at our steel foundry. This role transports raw materials, finished steel products, and equipment between plant facilities, customers, and suppliers.

You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, secure loads, and coordinate with foundry operations, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
• Prefer 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Experience hauling heavy materials or industrial loads preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate trucks and trailers to transport steel products, scrap, materials and equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT and company policy.
• Secure loads properly using chains, straps or binders.
• Coordinate with foundry, shipping and receiving teams for timely deliveries.
• Maintain delivery logs, bills of lading, and inspection records.
• Follow safety procedures and transportation laws; report issues promptly.
• Assist with loading/unloading using forklifts or cranes when required.
• Keep vehicle clean and organized and report maintenance needs.
