Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company is seeking an Automation Control Technician in Sumter, SC to support, maintain, and optimize automated manufacturing systems. You will work hands-on with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and engage in PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates have a Mechatronics background and strong understanding of industrial automation principles. This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years electronics/manufacturing experience or an Associate degree in a related technical field preferred.
• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or related field highly preferred.
• Hands-on lab and project experience with schematics, wiring diagrams, Ohm's Law, PLCs and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup and maintenance of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, debugging, and start-up of new equipment with Engineering.
• Maintain equipment logs and document process changes.
• Support vision systems and automated inspection tools.
