Job summary

Pillar Innovations, LLC in Morgantown, KY is seeking an Industrial Programmer to deliver turnkey automation solutions, focusing on PLC programming, HMI development, and software installations with minimal electrical work.

The programmer reports to the Automation Manager and will be based in Morgantown, with travel to project sites of about 25–50% to support troubleshooting, commissioning, and system validation while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent).
3+ years of experience in process control and automation.
Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical.
Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000/500.
Experience with HMI/ OIT development using Rockwell and/or Wonderware.
Willingness to travel 25–50% for projects.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and onsite troubleshooting for customers.
Support commissioning efforts for new projects and systems onsite.
Resolve operational problems for current systems or new projects.
Ensure safety objectives are observed in all work.
Assist in manufacture, build and validation of systems (pneumatics, servos, VFDs, relays, networks).
Create user manuals, diagrams, and electrical drawings.
Maintain records per quality standards.
