Job summary

ADM is seeking an Automation Software Lead to drive modernization of process control systems in Des Moines, IA. You will lead software design governance, program configurations, and project execution for DeltaV and PlantPAx platforms on on-site ADM facilities.

The role requires leadership, strong understanding of industrial protocols, cybersecurity awareness, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; experience in lieu of education may be considered.
• 7+ years in industrial automation software development and 3+ years in project execution.
• Experience designing and implementing software for process control systems such as Emerson DeltaV and Rockwell PlantPAx.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance of 3rd party automation vendor software design and define software architecture requirements.
• Oversee software engineering tasks including configuration, programming, and integration for modernization projects.
• Plan and execute upgrades for legacy control system software to enhance performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware and control system engineers to ensure seamless software/hardware integration.
• Develop and maintain detailed software specifications and programming documentation.
