Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced Electrical Design/Controls Engineer to join an expanding automation team in the Agawam, MA area. You will engage in full project lifecycles from concept through commissioning, working with PLCs, motion control, robotics, vision systems, and CNC equipment.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline.
3–5+ years of experience in electrical design, controls engineering, or industrial automation.
3 years of experience using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical for design and documentation.
Proven PLC ladder logic programming and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron, Fanuc or Direct Logic.
Ability to read and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
Experience designing industrial control panels, electrical assemblies, and automation systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in electrical and automation systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to travel up to 25% for commissioning and support; some international travel to Canada and Mexico; passport required.

Responsibilities

Develop conceptual designs, electrical layouts, and engineering documentation.
Design industrial control panels, machine control systems, power distribution, and electrical enclosures.
Create and maintain electrical design packages using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
Design, document, and support electro-mechanical systems and instrumentation.
Specify and select electrical and automation components for projects.
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic programs.
Implement automation solutions using motion control, robotics, vision, and CNC equipment.
Integrate safety systems including emergency stops and interlocks.
Evaluate and improve designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
