Job summary

Whiting Corporation in Illinois is seeking an Assembly Mechanical/Fabricator to assemble industrial machinery, align components, calibrate, and dismantle equipment in a factory setting. You’ll interpret mechanical drawings and read work orders to plan layout and assembly using hand tools, drills, and cranes.

Daily tasks include trimming and fitting components, tack welding, inspecting finished pieces, and using measuring devices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years reading mechanical and machine drawings.
• Ability to operate a forklift and read measuring tools.
• HS diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and align parts per drawings using hand tools, drills, and cranes.
• Tack weld, drill, measure, and rig large structures; inspect finished pieces for dimensions and specs.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings; communicate with design engineers to assemble and troubleshoot equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, assemblers, welders, and QC to validate designs and processes.
• Enter labor hours and job data in Epicor ERP; follow safety guidelines and wear PPE.
