Job summary

Rhoads Industries, a long‑standing family‑owned leader in industrial fabrication and maritime services, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join the finance team at The Navy Yard, Philadelphia. You will support the Financial Controller with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and day‑to‑day accounting activities in a fast‑paced environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, controls, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas).

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card transactions, and cash transactions.
• Assist with closing procedures, including processing journal entries and accruals.
• Assist with preparation of monthly account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with gathering documentation for internal and external audits.
• Support compliance with company policies.
• Learn and support additional accounting processes as they develop.
• Additional duties as assigned.
