Haverhill High School in Haverhill, Massachusetts is seeking an Indoor Track Assistant Coach B&G for the 2026-27 season. The role supports the Head Coach, promotes safety and sportsmanship, and helps with training, equipment, and records.

The ideal candidate has track experience, a valid driver’s license, and First Aid/CPR. MIAA certification is preferred. This is a seasonal stipend position for Nov 30, 2026 through Feb 19, 2027, with a $3,500 stipend.

• Proven ability to advocate the importance of education and school community.
• Successful previous experience in track as a player or coach.
• Track coaching experience - preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License - required.
• First Aid/CPR - required.
• MIAA Coaches Certification - preferred.

• Implements codes of conduct for coaches, players, and parents of the HHS track team.
• Ability to work the expected hours to include arriving prior to the student athlete arrival and departure times.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of game and competition rules and educates student-athletes on them, including MIAA rules.
• Develops training programs and practice sessions.
• Ensures proper cleaning, storage and maintenance of all athletic equipment and uniforms in conjunction with the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
• Travels with student-athletes on the team bus to/from meets.
• Demonstrates knowledge of track strategies and rules.
• Adheres to district financial policies regarding money, expenses and receipts.
• Works with Head Coach, Athletic Trainers and completes injury reports within 24 hours.
• Maintains records and completes paperwork and statistics timely.
• Collects forms such as physicals, attendance, parent consent and medical information before season start.
• Enforces policies of the Haverhill School Committee and Student Handbook.
• Supervises student behavior from arrival to departure, on/off field and during games.
• Maintains a safe environment for all student athletes.
• Attends annual Coaches meeting and reviews Coaches Handbook and anti-hazing form.
• Demonstrates commitment to protecting student athletes from inappropriate conduct.
• Proven ability to enforce rules in all sport-related activities and venues.
• Must have substantial knowledge of track rules including MIAA.
• Works professionally with students, teachers, parents, admins, boosters, media and the community.
• Reports disciplinary issues to Head Coach, Athletic Director and Principal.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Head Coach, Athletic Director, Principal or Superintendent.
