Job summary

Owen Health Care Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Individual Support Worker to assist therapists in creating behavioral therapy programs for children and adolescents. You will travel to homes in Bergen County, implementing plans and documenting progress.

You will develop engaging activities, ensure safety, and support families while adhering to established protocols and providing compassionate care.

Qualifications

• College degree with 1 year of experience or a HS diploma with 3 years supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans.
• Experience teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with IDD.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines.
• Empathy, patience and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Assist behavioral therapists to create tailored behavioral therapy programs for youth.
• Implement individualized service plans and behavioral interventions at home and in the community.
• Monitor and document youth observations and adjust activities to therapy goals.
• Develop engaging recreational activities to support emotional and social growth.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment for the youth in care.

Your day as an Individual Support WorkeR

As a Part Time Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care, you will play a pivotal role in assisting behavioral therapists to create effective behavioral therapy programs tailored to children and adolescents. Your responsibilities will include implementing individualized service plans, providing behavioral interventions in home and community settings, and actively managing youth with behavioral challenges.
