Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Indirect Tax Technology Manager to lead Vertex and related tax technology initiatives. The role spans US and Americas region, partnering with Tax, Finance, IT, ERP teams, and external vendors to ensure compliant, scalable tax solutions.

Location options include Peoria, IL or Irving, TX, with onsite work arrangement and up to 10% travel. Strong project leadership and tax technology expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of indirect tax concepts, including Sales and Use Tax and related tax determination requirements.
• Ability to translate tax requirements into practical business processes, controls, and technology solutions.
• Understanding of end-to-end business processes that impact tax determination, compliance, invoicing, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the configuration, implementation, and ongoing management of the US Vertex tax engine.
• Lead indirect tax technology activities associated with ERP implementations, upgrades, and business transformation initiatives.
• Translate indirect tax requirements into system configurations, testing activities, controls, and business solutions.
• Collaborate with deployment teams, IT, Finance, Tax, and external partners to support successful solution delivery.
• Develop and manage workstream plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and key project deliverables.
