Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL or Irving, TX, seeks an Indirect Tax Technology Manager to lead tax technology solutions and Vertex management. You will partner with Tax, Finance, IT, ERP teams, and vendors to embed tax requirements into enterprise systems and drive tax transformation initiatives.

The role combines tax expertise with project leadership to support ongoing operations and major ERP deployments across the United States and the Americas region.

Qualifications

• Strong indirect tax knowledge and ability to translate tax requirements into practical system configurations.
• Experience with Vertex O Series and indirect tax engines.
• Experience leading ERP deployments and tax technology projects.
• Ability to collaborate across Tax, Finance, IT and external partners.
• Location shown as Peoria, IL or Irving, TX; onsite work is expected.

Responsibilities

• Own the configuration, implementation, and ongoing management of the US Vertex tax engine.
• Lead indirect tax technology activities for ERP implementations, upgrades, and transformations.
• Oversee integrations between tax engines, ERP systems, invoicing platforms, and reporting tools.
• Ensure data flows between business systems and tax determination solutions.
• Provide governance, planning, and status updates for technology deployments.
