Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years indirect tax experience in public accounting and/or multinational corporate environments.
  • Strong expertise in indirect tax compliance and operations.
  • Experience leading audits, controversy matters, and tax authority interactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in multinational manufacturing, technology, or industrial organizations (preferred).
  • Leadership experience managing tax professionals and external advisors (preferred).
  • Experience implementing tax technology and process automation initiatives (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day indirect tax compliance activities across U.S. jurisdictions
  • Oversee sales & use tax, property tax, excise tax, business licensing, registrations, and related reporting obligations
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing, reporting, and remittance of indirect taxes
  • Manage relationships with external service providers supporting compliance activities
  • Partner with business and finance leadership to evaluate tax implications of new initiatives and operational changes
  • Provide indirect tax guidance on strategic projects and business transactions
  • Support organizational growth initiatives from a tax and compliance perspective
  • Lead indirect tax audits and examinations
  • Manage notices, assessments, and information requests from taxing authorities
  • Develop strategies to minimize tax risk and defend company tax positions
  • Serve as a primary contact with tax authorities and external advisors
  • Oversee indirect tax system configuration and taxability mapping
  • Drive tax transformation initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and scalability
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, controls, and compliance processes
  • Evaluate and support implementation of: Tax engines; Exemption certificate management tools; Workflow solutions; Reporting dashboards; Other tax technology platforms
  • Lead, coach, and develop indirect tax professionals
  • Manage external advisors and tax technology providers

About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead and transform the indirect tax function while partnering closely with finance, operations, accounting, IT, and business leadership.

The Indirect Tax Senior Manager / Director will be a key member of the global tax team, overseeing indirect tax compliance, audit management, technology initiatives, and process transformation efforts. This role combines technical tax expertise, leadership responsibilities, and strategic business partnership within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
Indirect Tax Compliance & Operations
  • Lead day-to-day indirect tax compliance activities across U.S. jurisdictions
  • Oversee sales & use tax, property tax, excise tax, business licensing, registrations, and related reporting obligations
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing, reporting, and remittance of indirect taxes
  • Manage relationships with external service providers supporting compliance activities
Business Advisory & Tax Planning
  • Partner with business and finance leadership to evaluate tax implications of new initiatives and operational changes
