Job summary

Jobot is seeking a high-caliber Senior Associate (or Manager) to join our elite indirect tax practice in Columbus. You will lead strategic engagements for Fortune 100 clients, overseeing reverse audits, audit defense, and multijurisdictional sales and use tax projects.

A background in Indirect Tax with 6+ years, CPA/JD/LLM preferred, and proven leadership in managing complex multinational relationships is required. We offer a collaborative, high-performance environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in Indirect Tax (Sales and Use) within a Big 4 accounting firm or a specialized tax consulting boutique.
• CPA, JD, or LLM preferred; deep expertise in Reverse Audits, Audit Defense, and multistate Sales & Use Tax laws.
• Proven track record of managing and growing relationships with large multinational corporations.
• Leadership: ability to lead engagement teams and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Client Leadership: serve as primary technical advisor for Fortune 100/50 client accounts, managing multi-year relationships and complex lifecycles.
• Audit Defense & Reverse Audits: lead and oversee Sales and Use tax recovery projects and manage complex audit defense engagements.
• Technical Advisory: provide guidance on nexus studies, taxability research, and transactional planning.
• Practice Development: drive growth of the Indirect Tax practice and mentor a high-performing team.
• Legislative Oversight: monitor emerging tax legislation to advise on impacts to global operations.

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Associate (or Manager) to join our elite commercial tax consulting practice. This is not a "compliance-heavy" in-house role; it is a strategic leadership position focused on delivering sophisticated tax solutions for a premier Fortune 100 client base. The successful candidate will lead high-stakes engagements, specializing in Reverse Audit Defense, complex recovery projects, and multi-jurisdictional Sales and Use tax strategy. If you are a technical expert who thrives on solving "unsolvable" tax puzzles and managing elite client relationships, this is your next step.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Client Leadership: Serve as the primary technical advisor for high-profile Fortune 100/50 client accounts, managing multi-year relationships and complex project lifecycles.
• Audit Defense & Reverse Audits: Lead and oversee comprehensive Sales and Use tax recovery projects and manage complex audit defense engagements to mitigate exposure and maximize cash flow for clients.
• Technical Advisory: Provide expert-level guidance on multi-jurisdictional tax complexities, including nexus studies, taxability research, and transactional planning.
• Practice Development: Drive the growth of the Indirect Tax practice by identifying new service opportunities within existing accounts and mentoring a high-performing team of managers and seniors.
• Legislative Oversight: Monitor and analyze emerging tax legislation (Wayfair, etc.) to proactively advise clients on potential impacts to their global operations.

Qualifications
