GEA is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax professional to manage US North American indirect tax obligations, audits, and filings across multiple entities. You will prepare tax returns, journal entries, and monitor regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
The role requires strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and experience with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics. Opportunity to drive tax process improvements and participate in Vertex implementation.
- Manage all aspects of sales & use, personal property, business license and Canadian Value Added Taxes for GEA’s North American legal entities
- Manage indirect tax audits, including pulling necessary documents for auditors
- Prepare and/or review sales & use, personal property, business license, Canadian VAT returns and amended returns
- Prepare journal entries to account for accrued indirect taxes and corresponding tax filings
- Monitor changes in indirect tax laws, regulations and court rulings for material jurisdictions
- Review and prepare journal entries for return corrections, customer credits and intercompany invoicing transactions
- Continually develop taxation expertise and company knowledge
- Research and provide recommendations on various indirect tax matters
- Participate in the Vertex implementation for all other legal entities
Demonstrates expertise in Indirect Taxation, including Sales & Use Tax Audits, and possesses strong analytical skills to monitor and adapt to changes in tax laws and regulations. Proficient in preparing tax returns and journal entries while effectively communicating complex tax matters.
