We are seeking anIndirect Tax Analystto support our Indirect Tax team.This position provides foundational compliance, operational, and administrative support for both sales andusetax and property tax functions. The roleassistswith tax filings, property tax appeals administration, data analysis, audit support, and maintenance ofaccuratetax records and processes across multiplejurisdictions.
Prepare and file simple state and local sales and use tax returns, ensuring completeness, accuracy, andtimelysubmission.
Maintain,validate, and review transaction and property-level tax data, including assessed values, tax bills, and jurisdictional information,identifyingdiscrepanciesand supporting corrections as needed.
Assistwith sales tax registrations, business license applications, renewals, and jurisdictional compliance requirements.
Support property tax compliance activities, including tracking filing requirements, incentive deadlines, and jurisdictional reporting obligations.
Support property tax appeals administration by gathering documentation, organizing data, coordinating communications, andmaintainingappeal activity records and reporting.
Assistwith audit activities by gathering documentation, preparing supporting schedules, responding to auditor requests, and supporting internal control requirements.
Monitor and coordinate communications received through shared tax mailboxes, including reviewing tax notices and routing items to appropriate stakeholders.
Coordinate property tax estimate requests by gathering required information, tracking request status, and communicating updates with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
Conduct research on sales andusetax regulations, property tax requirements, assessment methodologies, and jurisdictional compliance matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Real Estate, Operations, and external consultants, to resolve indirect tax-related issues.
Maintain organized documentation, records, and supporting schedules for compliance, audits, appeals, reporting, and internal controls.
Support process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system updates related to indirect tax compliance and administration.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
1–3 years of experience in indirect tax, sales and use tax, property tax, accounting, finance, real estate, ora relatedfield.
Basic understanding of multi-state sales andusetax concepts, compliance processes, and property tax assessments and appeals.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Experience with ERP systems, tax compliance software (such as OneSource), property tax systems, or large datasets preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and with external consultants.
