Grainger is seeking an Associate Category Manager in a hybrid role focused on indirect procurement. You will develop sourcing strategies for multiple sub-categories, lead global negotiations, and drive cost savings.

The position offers collaboration with stakeholders and exposure to high-impact spend management across Grainger North America. You will report to the Manager, Category Manager, with a hybrid work setup (Lake Forest, IL or downtown Chicago) and travel approx.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar field.
• 3+ years in Category Management, indirect procurement, contract negotiations, or global sourcing.
• Experience developing strategies, managing projects, and applying sourcing processes for sub-categories with spend >$250k.
• Experience assessing, managing, and communicating contractual, operational, financial plans and risks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing plans for assigned sub-categories with spend under management of $20-100MM.
• Lead global sourcing in respective sub-categories including spend analysis, TCO, negotiations, and contract finalization.
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on project status and market changes.
• Monitor supplier industry trends and benchmark costs through market intelligence tools.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in procurement processes across the department.
• Execute buying activities related to strategic sourcing events and one-off requests.
